☎️Phone Dialer in Slate Voice
When I realized that Slate did not have a native phone dialer for Slate Voice, I decided I'd build one - and we'd like to share it with you!
The basics: When you use Slate Voice to dial a number from a record, it takes you the Slate Voice switchboard page and leverages URL parameter strings to populate the number.
The dialer: This phone dialer lives in a User Dashboard that is accessible in your Quick Launch Panel. Key in a phone number and hit 'Connect'. It will open the Slate Voice switchboard interface with the eligible number entered into the URL parameters.
Good news: Slate Voice calls work like other records on the Message table. This means that as long as your dialer number matches the Device Value on a person record, this phone call record will appear on their timeline.
This suitcase is ready to import into any database - just make sure you add any User-scoped filters (ex. Role or Permission filters) to limit who can see the dialer dashboard.
